The short version
- Prompt & Model Optimizer is an independent plugin for ChatGPT, published by Adebayo David. It is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic.
- It works from the draft you type. It does not read your saved memory, uploaded library or other files.
- To look up a model's recorded status, search its prompting notes and, where it is shown, display the tap-to-select question panel, the plugin sends small pieces of information to the developer's server: model names, search terms and the follow-up questions.
- The server does not store or log that information, has no database and no accounts, and uses no cookies, analytics or advertising.
- Nothing you type is used to train any model by the developer. Your ChatGPT conversation is handled by OpenAI under OpenAI's policies and your own settings.
- If you use the website's Suggest an edit form, your message (and your name and email, if you add them) is delivered to the developer by Netlify.
- Please do not paste secrets or sensitive personal data.
What this tool is
Prompt & Model Optimizer is a plugin that runs inside ChatGPT. It takes a rough draft, asks a few follow-up questions, recommends a best-fit AI model, surface and effort level, and rebuilds your draft into a precise, ready-to-paste prompt. It writes prompts; it does not carry out the task itself.
What you provide
Only what you type into ChatGPT: your draft, and your answers to its follow-up questions. If you mention a file, that file is something you will attach later in your own chosen AI tool. It is never uploaded to this plugin.
What is sent to the developer's server, and why
Most of the work happens inside ChatGPT. Three helper features call a small server run by the developer at prompt0pt1miser.netlify.app:
| Feature | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Question panel | The follow-up questions and answer options written for your draft. Because they are written for your request, they can reflect what your draft is about. | To display the questions as tap-to-select buttons with space to type your own answer. |
| Model status | The name of a model or platform, for example "GPT-5.5". | To look up that model's recorded status (for example active or preview) and when it was last checked. |
| Reference search | A short search phrase about prompting or models. | To find relevant notes in the developer's prompting reference material. |
Your answers from the panel are sent straight back into your ChatGPT conversation as your next message. They are not sent to the developer's server.
What the developer keeps
Nothing. The server answers each request and forgets it: it does not save requests, does not write their contents to logs, and has no database or user accounts. There are no cookies, analytics, tracking or payments on the developer's side, and the developer cannot read your ChatGPT conversations.
The server is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes standard connection information (such as IP address and request time) to deliver and secure the service, under its own privacy policy.
The website's feedback form
The Suggest an edit page is separate from the plugin. If you use it, what you type is sent to the developer:
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your message (required); your name and email (optional) | To read your suggestion and, if you gave an email, to reply | Up to 12 months, then deleted. Ask at the contact below to have it deleted sooner. |
Submissions are received and stored by Netlify Forms (the website host) and forwarded to the developer's email inbox. A hidden spam-trap field is used to block automated spam; no cookies or tracking are used.
Who receives your information
- OpenAI, which runs ChatGPT and processes your conversation.
- Netlify, which hosts the developer's server and website and delivers feedback-form messages.
- No one else. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to build profiles.
How long it is kept
The plugin's server keeps nothing after it has answered a request. Feedback-form messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Your ChatGPT conversation is kept by OpenAI according to your ChatGPT settings.
Model training
The developer does not use anything you type to train any model. Whether OpenAI uses your conversations to improve its models is governed by OpenAI and by your own account settings.
Not confirmed by this page: OpenAI's policies and defaults can change. Check OpenAI's help centre before you rely on them.
Your choices
- Answer the follow-up questions by typing in the chat instead of using the panel.
- Keep personal details out of your drafts; use placeholders such as {{NAME}} and add the real values later in your own tools.
- Remove the plugin from ChatGPT at any time.
- Ask questions about this page using the contact details below.
Your responsibility: sensitive data
- Do not paste passwords, API keys or other credentials. The plugin is instructed to replace any it notices with a placeholder in the prompt it writes, but it may not catch every case, so do not paste them at all.
- Do not paste financial, health or other sensitive personal data.
- Do not paste confidential, locked or access-restricted material.
- Follow your organisation's own data and privacy rules.
Changes to this page
This page is updated when the plugin or the platform rules change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
